Sing Up
Sing Up is a website recommended to me by our music teacher at university. It has a huge song bank for users with a subscription and a small collection for its free users. Songs are arranged into easy to find categories ranging from EAL to pop. This is a great resource to use in lessons for class teaching and as a sing along display for use in assemblies.
Charanga
In my first plaement school. Music was taught through a website called Charanga. It made delivering music lessons easier for people with little to no music teaching experience. Children enjoyed music lessons with Charanga. It has handy features such as; content that is tailored to the new curriculum; singing tracks that display lyrics and options to filter out different parts of the music and topic related music.
Garage Band
During a music lesson at university, we had the opportunity to use and experiment with an easy to use app, called Garage Band. I really enjoyed using this app and I have now downloaded it onto my own phone. I found the interface very easy and straightforward to use. I think this app would be a great addition to music lessons as it enables children to be creative and experiment with different instruments that schools may not have.
Here is Disney’s ‘Let It Go’ created on Garage Band.
